Product Information

B4K hydraulic motor with disc valve distribution

The Olive Branch Hydraulics B4K orbital hydraulic motor covers nine nominal displacements from 110 to 625 cc/rev. Its catalogue construction uses a five-section arrangement, a geroler mechanism and heavy tapered roller bearing support for the standard motor output shaft.

Choose the 4K standard, 4KW wheel or 4KS bearingless arrangement against the installation drawing and operating point. The three product photographs show a wheel-type configuration from different views; they do not represent every shaft, flange, displacement or finish offered in the catalogue.

Standard, wheel and bearingless configurations

Configuration Installation check
4K standard motor F1 small square, F2 large square or F3 diamond flange; confirm output shaft and port package.
4KW wheel motor F4 wheel flange with different shaft projection and mounting-face position; check wheel offset and applied loads.
4KS bearingless motor F5 flange and a separately supported mating shaft; verify spline, alignment, lubrication and leakage paths.

The small-square F1 drawing specifies a nominal 101.5 mm pilot, four 15 mm holes and a 127 mm bolt circle. F2 uses a 127 mm pilot, four 14.5 mm holes and a 162 mm bolt circle; confirm drawing tolerances and mounting depth before manufacture.

F3 uses an 82.55 mm pilot with a 106.4 mm bolt circle and four 13.5 mm holes. The F4 wheel drawing uses a 139.6 mm pilot, a 165 mm bolt circle and four 14.5 mm holes; F5 bearingless uses a 127 mm pilot and 162 mm bolt circle.

Output shafts and hydraulic port options

The A5 shaft drawing states 500 ± 10 Nm for its slotted-nut tightening instruction and also shows a separate hub recommendation of 678 Nm dry or 576 Nm lubricated. Confirm which assembly instruction applies; these values are not flange-bolt torque specifications.

Port code Main A/B ports Drain T
P1 1-1/16-12 UNC O-ring, as printed 7/16-20 UNF O-ring
P2 G3/4 BSP G1/4 BSP
P3 7/8-14 UNF O-ring 9/16-18 UNF O-ring on port drawing; 7/16-20 UNF on ordering table—confirm.
P4 M22 × 1.5 M14 × 1.5
P5 Plate face, two Ø18 passages and eight M10 mounting threads 7/16-20 UNF
P6 Plate face, two Ø16 passages and eight 3/8-16 UNC mounting threads 7/16-20 UNF

The standard port drawing gives 19 mm main-thread depth and a minimum 12 mm drain-thread depth. Plate mounting threads are a separate dimension; P5/P6 mounting depth is 19 mm minimum on the drawing.

Duty limits, rotation and case drain

Use the complete summary rating table in the specifications section. For example, the 110 size has a 75 L/min continuous flow limit, while the other listed sizes show 95 L/min; continuous pressure falls to 190, 140 and 115 bar for the 400, 500 and 625 summary sizes.

Intermittent duty is limited to 10% of each minute, or 6 seconds. Performance curves show some different limits, so use the summary ratings for initial selection and obtain a confirmed operating point before applying load.

Facing the output shaft, A inlet / B outlet gives clockwise rotation; B inlet / A outlet gives counterclockwise rotation in the standard B4K diagram. Check the R/L ordering code and actual port position on the approved drawing.

The catalogue mentions 310 bar transient inlet and return peaks, which do not establish a universal continuous pressure or allowable seal back pressure. Confirm seal selection, return pressure, speed and drain routing for the actual circuit; the recommended maximum system temperature is 82°C.

Equipment selection and replacement checks

Conveyors, agricultural augers, winches and mobile wheel drives are possible selection scenarios after engineering review. No particular machine brand or model compatibility is established by the family name.

Drive application Information needed
Conveyor or feeder Starting torque with a loaded belt, required rpm, reduction ratio, duty cycle and chain or belt loads.
Auger or mixer Breakaway torque, jam relief, reversing duty, shock loading and available hydraulic flow.
Winch transmission Line pull, drum diameter, gearbox ratio, braking/load-holding arrangement and overspeed protection.
Wheel drive 4KW mounting, wheel offset, radial/axial loading, travel speed and braking requirements.
  1. Provide the original full model/OEM number, nameplate photographs and machine brand/model.
  2. Measure pilot, bolt circle or hole centres, hole diameter, flange thickness and available installation space.
  3. Identify shaft diameter, spline profile or keyway, axial thread and shaft projection.
  4. Confirm main-port and drain threads, sealing faces, port positions and any attached valve plate.
  5. State required continuous torque/rpm, starting load, pump flow, pressure, temperature, return pressure and duty cycle.
  6. Confirm standard, wheel or bearingless configuration, rotation, load support, quantity and destination.

Model search names and original-number enquiries

Common B4K identification formats are B4K110 / B4K 110 / B4K-110; B4K130 / B4K 130 / B4K-130; B4K160 / B4K 160 / B4K-160; B4K205 / B4K 205 / B4K-205; B4K245 / B4K 245 / B4K-245; B4K310 / B4K 310 / B4K-310; B4K400 / B4K 400 / B4K-400; B4K500 / B4K 500 / B4K-500; B4K625 / B4K 625 / B4K-625. The ordering family uses 4K, 4KW and 4KS; include the complete code rather than only the displacement.

The summary and ordering tables use 400/500, while several installation tables use 395/495. The bearingless dimension table additionally uses 125/250/315 where the summary lists 130/245/310; these labels need drawing confirmation rather than automatic substitution.

For original-number identification, Danfoss PowerSource lists 110-1283-006 as a Char-Lynn 4000 Series wheel motor, nominal size 310, with 311.8 cc/rev geometric displacement. It is an original-brand reference for an enquiry, not a confirmed B4K replacement: its 1-1/2 inch keyed shaft and 9/16-18 drain require individual comparison with the selected B4K configuration.

International descriptions include motor hidráulico orbital B4K, moteur hydraulique orbital B4K and гидромотор B4K. Use the original number and measured interface details when asking for a match.

Frequently asked questions

Is B4K a disc valve hydraulic motor?

Yes. The B4K catalogue specifies disc distribution with a geroler mechanism. The standard motor uses heavy tapered roller bearing support; the 4KS bearingless arrangement requires external support.

How do I select B4K displacement?

Use continuous torque and rpm, available flow and pressure, starting load, duty cycle and external shaft loads. Check the actual operating point rather than combining separate maximum ratings.

Can intermittent pressure be used continuously?

No. Intermittent operation is limited to 6 seconds per minute. Use the displacement-specific continuous rating for sustained operation and confirm the thermal conditions.

Are the 400/500 and 395/495 labels interchangeable?

Not by label alone. The summary and ordering table use 400/500, while several installation drawings use 395/495. The bearingless table also uses 125/250/315; confirm the intended size and exact geometry.

Does 4K or 4000 Series mean a direct replacement?

No. A replacement requires comparison of the complete original code, flange, shaft, ports, seals, drain, rotation and ratings. An original-brand reference number is identification information, not a guaranteed B4K interchange.

Which direction does the shaft rotate?

Facing the output shaft, A inlet and B outlet give clockwise rotation in the B4K standard diagram. B inlet and A outlet give counterclockwise rotation. Confirm the ordered R/L code against the drawing.

Is an external case drain needed?

It depends on circuit back pressure, speed, seal configuration and connection method. Provide the hydraulic circuit and operating conditions so the permitted case pressure and drain routing can be confirmed.

What should I send for an EXW Hebei quotation?

Send the full motor or OEM number, shaft/flange/port drawing, required torque and rpm, hydraulic conditions, quantity and destination. Sample availability, MOQ, lead time and packaging are confirmed for the actual configuration.

Request a B4K quotation from Hebei

Send Olive Branch Hydraulics the configuration drawing or original motor code, operating point, quantity and destination for an EXW Hebei quotation. Include any sample, private-label, packaging or documentation requirements; availability, terms and lead time are confirmed in the quotation.

For another disc-valve displacement range, compare the B2K orbital hydraulic motor against its own ratings and drawings. B4K is a different family from the BM4 shaft-distribution motor; do not interchange specifications based on similar names.
